About Jasminum officinale

Jasmine (Jasminum officinale), the common or poet's jasmine, is a deciduous climbing shrub of the olive family, Oleaceae, native to the Caucasus, Iran, the Himalaya and western China and grown in gardens since antiquity. Its slender green stems twine to 10 m with pinnate leaves of five to nine leaflets and loose clusters of starry white flowers, pink-tinged in bud, that are strongly fragrant at dusk. The flowers are picked before dawn for perfumery in Grasse and Egypt. We extract the dried flower.

Tincture or alcohol-free drops?

Both start from the same dried plant material and cold maceration. The tincture uses organic alcohol as the solvent, keeps for years and is the classic herbal form. The alcohol-free drops (glycerite) use vegetable glycerin and purified water, taste mildly sweet and suit anyone avoiding alcohol. The amount of dried herb per serving is printed on each label.
