Kudzu (Pueraria montana var. lobata, long known as Pueraria lobata), the ge gen of China, is a rampant climbing and trailing perennial vine of the legume family, Fabaceae, native to China, Japan and Korea and infamous as an invasive in the southeastern United States. Hairy stems grow up to 30 m a season, with large three-lobed leaflets and upright spikes of fragrant, grape-scented purple pea flowers in late summer. The huge, starchy taproot can weigh 100 kg. We extract the dried flower and the dried root separately.
Tincture or alcohol-free drops?
Both start from the same dried plant material and cold maceration. The tincture uses organic alcohol
as the solvent, keeps for years and is the classic herbal form. The alcohol-free drops (glycerite) use
vegetable glycerin and purified water, taste mildly sweet and suit anyone avoiding alcohol. The amount of
dried herb per serving is printed on each label.
