About Cucurbita citrullus

Watermelon (Citrullus lanatus, listed in the catalogue under the old name Cucurbita citrullus) is a trailing annual vine of the gourd family, Cucurbitaceae, native to northeastern Africa and grown in warm regions worldwide, with China the largest producer. Its hairy stems run several meters along the ground with deeply lobed, grey-green leaves, branched tendrils and small yellow flowers. The large, round to oblong fruit has a smooth green rind, often striped, and sweet red or yellow watery flesh dotted with flat, hard, black or brown seeds. We extract the dried seed.

Tincture or alcohol-free drops?

Both start from the same dried plant material and cold maceration. The tincture uses organic alcohol as the solvent, keeps for years and is the classic herbal form. The alcohol-free drops (glycerite) use vegetable glycerin and purified water, taste mildly sweet and suit anyone avoiding alcohol. The amount of dried herb per serving is printed on each label.
