Wormwood (Artemisia absinthium) is a silvery perennial herb. Plant height is 50-200 cm. Stems are straight, slightly ribbed. Slices of all leaves are linear-oblong, bluntly pointed. The flowers are all tubular, yellow. Baskets are spherical, 2.5-3.5 mm in diameter. The fruit is a brownish pointed achene about 1 mm long. The fruits ripen in August - September. Propagated by seeds. It is believed to come from Europe, North Africa and western Asia. Naturalized in North America. It is widely cultivated in Southern Europe, Russia, North Africa and the USA.*

- Skin: apply to intact skin only - do not use on open wounds or broken or abraded skin, and keep it away from the eyes and mucous membranes. Do a patch test first, and stop if redness, itching, or rash develops. Because this is an alcohol tincture, it may sting on sensitive skin; never apply undiluted essential oil.
- Allergy: do not use if you are allergic to plants in the Asteraceae (daisy) family, such as ragweed, chrysanthemum, marigold, or daisy.
- Pregnancy / nursing: avoid use during pregnancy and while breastfeeding.
