White Grass (Imperata Cylindrica) is a perennial rhizomatous herb (grass) in the Poaceae family. It is native to eastern and southeastern Asia, Australia, Micronesia, Melanesia, India, southern and eastern Africa. The plant can be about 0.6-3 m tall. The leaves are usually about 2 cm broad near the base of the herb and narrow with a sharp apex at the top; the leaf edges are finely jagged. The upper surface is pubescent near the base but the lower surface is hairless. The roots are about 0.4-1.2 m long. The plant produces quite long white whisks.*
