This is an alcohol-based liquid extract (tincture) of the dried bark of Populus alba, the white poplar, a member of the willow family (Salicaceae). Like willow and other poplars, its bark naturally contains salicin and populin - the salicylate compounds related to the origins of aspirin - along with tannins and flavonoids.

This is white poplar bark (Populus alba). It is different from our Balm of Gilead (the bud of a different poplar, Populus candicans), our White Willow (the bark of a willow, Salix alba), and our Small Flower Willow (Epilobium parviflorum, a willowherb that is not a true willow). - Blood thinners / NSAIDs: if you take a blood thinner, an anticoagulant or an anti-inflammatory (NSAID) medicine, talk to a qualified healthcare practitioner first, because effects can add up.
- Stomach / ulcer: the bark is rich in tannins and may cause stomach upset - avoid it if you have a stomach or peptic ulcer.
- Contains alcohol. Keep to the suggested serving and keep out of reach of children.
