Cervix Guard Alcohol-Free Drops

This is an alcohol-free liquid extract (glycerite) of six herbs extracted together: the unfermented tea leaf, the sweet root of the Chinese astragalus, two aromatic leaves of the mint family - holy basil and thyme - and two pungent rhizomes of the ginger family, ginger and turmeric. Each is also sold on its own. It is a traditional herbal product that contains caffeine and carries several cautions - please read the safety information below before use.

What is in the blend

  • Green tea leaf - the young tea leaf, dried without oxidation; it keeps its grassy taste, catechins and natural caffeine.
  • Astragalus root - huang qi, the long yellow root of a perennial legume of the grasslands of northern China, sliced into flat fibrous pieces; faintly sweet.
  • Holy basil leaf - tulsi, the purple-tinged, clove-scented basil of Indian courtyards; a different species from sweet basil.
  • Thyme leaf - the small grey-green leaves of the low Mediterranean shrub, the same plant as the kitchen herb.
  • Ginger root - the knobbly, pungent rhizome of a tropical Asian plant, the same root used as a spice.
  • Turmeric rhizome - the bright orange rhizome of a ginger relative from South Asia, source of the golden color of curry.

Why the alcohol-free drops

The six dried herbs are extracted together in vegetable glycerin and purified water, so there is no ethanol in the bottle - the version to choose if you avoid alcohol. Glycerin gives the drops a mild, naturally sweet taste that softens the warm, spicy note of the rhizomes.

What is a glycerite?

A glycerite is a liquid herbal extract made with vegetable glycerin instead of alcohol. Glycerin is a clear, naturally sweet liquid from plant oils; it extracts and preserves the water-soluble parts of the herbs. Because glycerin is a weaker preservative than alcohol, keep the bottle refrigerated after opening. The glycerin and water percentages are printed on the label.

How to use

Shake well before use. Put the number of drops shown on the label into a little water, juice or tea and drink it, up to the frequency shown on the label. Do not exceed the label serving, and take it earlier in the day because of the caffeine. Do not use continuously for more than eight weeks without a practitioner. Refrigerate after opening and use within the period printed on the label.

Drops or tincture?

If you prefer the classic alcohol-based extract with the longest shelf life at room temperature, the same six-herb blend is available as Cervix Guard Tincture - the alcohol-based version. The herbs and proportions are identical; only the extraction liquid differs.

Important safety information - please read before use

Several of these herbs affect blood clotting and blood sugar, astragalus is unsuitable with immunosuppressants, and the blend contains caffeine and is not for pregnancy. Please read before use.

  • Autoimmune conditions and immunosuppressants: astragalus can stimulate the immune system. Do not use if you have an autoimmune condition or take immunosuppressant medicines, including after a transplant.
  • Bleeding and surgery: turmeric, ginger, holy basil and thyme can slow blood clotting. Do not combine with blood thinners or aspirin without medical advice, and stop use at least two weeks before surgery.
  • Gallstones: turmeric and ginger increase bile flow. Do not use if you have gallstones or a blocked bile duct.
  • Blood sugar: green tea and holy basil can lower it. Use caution with diabetes medication.
  • Liver: concentrated green tea extracts have been linked to rare liver injury. Stop and see a doctor if you notice dark urine, yellowing skin or eyes, or stomach pain.
  • Caffeine: contains caffeine. Do not combine with other caffeine products; take it earlier in the day.
  • Pregnancy, nursing and conception: do not use.
  • Lithium: astragalus can raise lithium levels. Do not combine.
  • Iron: green tea and turmeric reduce iron absorption. Take it apart from meals and iron supplements.
  • Medicines: green tea can reduce the absorption of nadolol, lisinopril and certain statins. Ask your pharmacist.
  • Age and duration: not for children. Do not use continuously for more than eight weeks.
  • If you have a medical condition or take medication, consult a qualified healthcare practitioner before use. Do not use it to self-treat any medical condition - see a qualified doctor instead. Keep out of reach of children.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Cervix Guard Alcohol-Free Drops?
Cervix Guard is a six-herb liquid blend: green tea leaf (Camellia sinensis), astragalus root (Astragalus membranaceus), holy basil leaf (Ocimum tenuiflorum, tulsi), thyme leaf (Thymus vulgaris), ginger root (Zingiber officinale) and turmeric rhizome (Curcuma longa), extracted together in vegetable glycerin and purified water, with no alcohol. It gathers the unfermented tea leaf, the sweet fibrous root of a Chinese legume, two aromatic Lamiaceae leaves and two pungent rhizomes of the ginger family. Each is also sold on its own. It is an herbal glycerite, not a capsule, and it contains caffeine from the tea leaf. It is a botanical product and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Please read the safety note below - several of these herbs affect blood clotting and blood sugar, astragalus is unsuitable with immunosuppressants, and the blend is not for pregnancy.
What is the difference between the alcohol-free drops and the tincture?
Both contain the same six herbs in the same proportions; only the extraction liquid differs. These drops are a glycerite made with vegetable glycerin and purified water - no alcohol, a milder and naturally sweet taste that softens the warm, spicy note of the rhizomes, best kept refrigerated after opening. The tincture uses organic alcohol with vegetable glycerin and water, the classic method with the longest shelf life at room temperature. Choose whichever suits you; the safety notes apply to both.
How is Cervix Guard different from Cervix Support and from Green Tea and Holy Basil?
They are related but different formulas. Cervix Support is a two-herb blend of green tea and turmeric only; Cervix Guard contains those two plus astragalus, holy basil, thyme and ginger. Our Green Tea and Holy Basil blend shares two herbs with Cervix Guard and has no others. Please choose by composition. All six herbs in Cervix Guard are available as single extracts.
How do I use Cervix Guard Drops?
