
AN ALTERNATIVE TO CAFFEINE
Chicory is a woody and herbaceous plant.
Family: Asteraceae.
Plant has bright blue flowers (2 to 4 cm wide), sometimes white or pink, hairy stem from 30 to 100 cm tall.
Originate from Europe but it has now naturalized into the Americas.
Chicory contains:

- vitamin A, B6, C, E, K
Parts used: leaves, buds and roots.
Chicory has been thought to have medicinal qualities for over 5000 years. In the early 19th century chicory was believed chicory to be a sedative effects. Chicory is safe for most adults when consumed in moderate amounts.
It's interesting facts that in foods, chicory leaves are often eaten like celery and the roots and leaf buds are boiled and eaten.
Chicory will be a good alternative for those who love coffee but are worried about caffeine overdose.
Coffee alternative recipe
Ingredients
1 tablespoon roasted chicory root granules
2 cups water
1 cup milk
sweetener (sugar, honeym syrop)
powder of cinnamon
Instructions
Heat 1 cup milk of choice until steaming and hot (not boiling).
Brew 1 tablespoon roasted chicory root granules with 2 cups water in a teapot.
Divide chicory drink between two large mugs.
Divide the milk between the two mugs and stir.
Sweeten with you favourite sweetener.
Sprinkle with cinnamon.
