This is an alcohol-free (glycerite) liquid extract of the dried root of Angelica pubescens (form biserrata; pubescent or doubleteeth angelica, Apiaceae family), known in traditional Chinese herbalism as Du Huo.

This is Angelica pubescens (Du Huo) - a different species from Dong Quai / Dang Gui (Angelica sinensis, the blood tonic), from Bai Zhi (Angelica dahurica) and from European angelica (Angelica archangelica), all of which we sell separately.

Sun sensitivity (photosensitivity). Du Huo root naturally contains furanocoumarins (such as bergapten and xanthotoxin). These are photosensitizing - they can make your skin react more strongly to sunlight or UV, which may cause a rash, redness, swelling or darkened patches on sun-exposed skin. While taking it, limit strong sun and tanning-bed exposure and use sun protection.
- Blood clotting / surgery: Du Huo may affect blood clotting - ask your practitioner before use if you take blood thinners or are preparing for surgery.
- Medications: its furanocoumarins may change how some medications are processed - consult your practitioner if you take any medication.
- Drowsiness: it can have a mild sedative effect - do not drive or operate machinery until you know how it affects you.
- Do NOT use during pregnancy or while nursing. Keep to the suggested serving; do not exceed it.
- Keep out of reach of children. Refrigerate after opening.
