Uterus Support Tincture
This is an alcohol-based liquid extract (tincture) of three ingredients extracted together: the peppery berry of the Mediterranean chaste tree, bromelain - the enzyme concentrate of pineapple stem - and the inner bark of the Amazonian cat's claw vine. Each is also sold on its own. It is a traditional herbal product with several important cautions - it interacts with hormonal contraceptives and immunosuppressants, and affects blood clotting - please read the safety information below before use.
- Vitex (chaste tree), berry - Vitex agnus-castus berry (Lamiaceae)
- Bromelain - Ananas comosus stem enzyme (Bromeliaceae) - a pineapple-derived enzyme powder
- Cat's claw, inner bark - Uncaria tomentosa inner bark (Rubiaceae)
- Extract type: Alcohol tincture. Other ingredients: organic alcohol, vegetable glycerin, crystal clear purified water
- Origin: Responsibly sourced (vitex from Turkey, bromelain from the USA, cat's claw from Peru). Gluten free. Made in the USA.
What is in the blend
- Vitex berry - the small, dark, pepper-scented fruit of the chaste tree, a shrub of Mediterranean riverbanks with lilac flower spikes; gathered in European herbalism for centuries.
- Bromelain - not a herb but a group of protein-digesting enzymes concentrated from the stem of the pineapple plant and supplied as a dried powder. Because it comes from pineapple, it matters for anyone with a pineapple, latex or papain allergy.
- Cat's claw inner bark - the inner bark of a woody vine of the Peruvian Amazon, named for the curved thorns at the base of its leaves. This is Uncaria tomentosa - a different plant from Uncaria guianensis, and unrelated to devil's claw.
Why a tincture
The three dried ingredients are macerated together in organic alcohol with a little vegetable glycerin and water - the classic herbal method. A tincture keeps for years at room temperature in a cool, dark place, has a bitter, peppery, slightly fruity taste, and a few drops disappear in a glass of water or juice. A serving of 20 to 30 drops is roughly 1 ml of liquid, so the amount of alcohol per serving is small.
How to use
Shake well before use. Put the number of drops shown on the label into a little water or juice and drink it, up to the frequency shown on the label. Do not exceed the label serving, and do not use continuously for more than a few months without a practitioner. Store in a cool, dark place with the cap tight.
Tincture or drops?
If you avoid alcohol or prefer a milder taste, the same blend is available as Uterus Support Alcohol-Free Drops - the glycerite version. The ingredients and proportions are identical; only the extraction liquid differs.
Important safety information - please read before use
Vitex interacts with hormonal contraceptives, cat's claw with immunosuppressants, and both cat's claw and bromelain affect blood clotting. Please read before use.
- Contraceptives and hormone therapy: vitex can reduce the effect of hormonal contraceptives and hormone replacement therapy. Do not use this blend with them unless your doctor agrees.
- Dopamine-related medicines: vitex may interfere with antipsychotics and dopamine agonists such as levodopa or bromocriptine. Do not combine without medical advice.
- Immunosuppressants and autoimmune conditions: cat's claw can stimulate the immune system. Do not use if you take immunosuppressant medicines, including after a transplant, or if you have an autoimmune condition.
- Bleeding and surgery: cat's claw and bromelain can slow blood clotting. Do not combine with blood thinners, aspirin or NSAIDs without medical advice, and stop use at least two weeks before surgery.
- Prescription medicines: cat's claw blocks the liver enzyme CYP3A4 and can raise the levels of HIV protease inhibitors, cyclosporine and some benzodiazepines; bromelain can change the absorption of antibiotics such as amoxicillin and tetracycline. Ask your pharmacist before combining.
- Pregnancy, nursing and conception: do not use.
- Hormone-sensitive conditions: vitex acts on hormone pathways. Consult your doctor before use.
- Allergies: avoid if you are allergic to pineapple, latex or papain.
- Blood pressure: cat's claw can lower it. Use caution with blood-pressure medication.
- Age: not for children.
- Contains alcohol. If you have a medical condition or take medication, consult a qualified healthcare practitioner before use. Do not use it to self-treat any medical condition - see a qualified doctor instead. Keep out of reach of children.

great seller, good product
Fo-Ti has worked for re-growing my hair and eyelashes. I really like the alcohol-free product. It works just as well as the version that contains alcohol, and tastes a lot better.
Great seller to do business with.
