Barbed Skullcap (Scutellaria Barbata) is one of perennials, 15 to 50cm high. Roots are rather slender. Stems are usually thin, square-column-shaped, and with dark purple or brownish green surface. Leaves are usually opposite, with short petiole. Flowers are solitary in axils; corolla is brownish yellow or bluish violet, and pubescent. Fruits are oblate and light brown.*

When I ordered this tincture I thought it was papaver somniferum, a sleep aid. I now understand that California poppy is a different genus. The tincture seems ok, nothing dramatic, but I guess it helps one sleep if you take the 30 drps as the instructions recommend.
