Wax Gourd (Benincasa Hispida) an annual climbing plant that belongs to the Cucurbitaceae family. It is hispid, stiff, and monoecious. The vines can reach up to 1-2 m in height. The stem is tubular, thick, grooved and pubescent. The broad leaves are round or kidney-shaped, about 10-25 cm in diameter. The yellow flowers are big and have a pilose bell-shaped calyx. The ash-coloured fruit is hairy when it is young. As it matures, the fruit becomes hairless with a waxy coating. Wax gourd fruit can be about 80 cm long. *
