Rosemary (Salvia rosmarinus, long known as Rosmarinus officinalis) is an evergreen shrub of the mint family, Lamiaceae, native to the Mediterranean coast and cultivated worldwide as a culinary and garden herb. It grows 1 to 2 meters tall with woody stems densely set with narrow, needle-like leaves that are dark green above and white-felted beneath, releasing a sharp, pine-and-camphor scent when brushed. Small pale blue, two-lipped flowers appear along the branches in spring and sporadically through the year. We extract the dried leaf.
Tincture or alcohol-free drops?
Both start from the same dried plant material and cold maceration. The tincture uses organic alcohol
as the solvent, keeps for years and is the classic herbal form. The alcohol-free drops (glycerite) use
vegetable glycerin and purified water, taste mildly sweet and suit anyone avoiding alcohol. The amount of
dried herb per serving is printed on each label.
