- High Quality Blackberry Root liquid extract - we use classic conventional methods of extraction. We meticulously produce our extracts according to precise standards where each herb is extracted according to the distinct characteristic of each plant.
- Concentrated Blackberry Root glycerin-based liquid extract
- We strictly use organic or ethically sourced wild harvested raw material and vegetable glycerin USP
Blackberry (Rubus armeniacus) is a thorny shrub of the rose family (Rosaceae), the Himalayan or Armenian blackberry, part of the broad Rubus fruticosus bramble group. Most people know blackberry for its berries, but the part used here is the root. This alcohol-free extract is prepared from the dried root in a smooth vegetable glycerin base.
-
WHOLE-ROOT LIQUID EXTRACT: Made from the dried root of Rubus armeniacus, carrying the plant's natural spectrum of constituents rather than an isolated or standardized single compound.
-
ALCOHOL-FREE, GLYCERIN BASE: This version is 100% alcohol-free, made with a smooth vegetable glycerin base and purified water.
-
THE ROOT, NOT THE BERRY OR LEAF: This is the blackberry root. It is not blackberry fruit or juice, and it is not the leaf. We also sell blackberry leaf as a separate product; this one is the root.
-
BLACKBERRY, NOT RASPBERRY: This is Rubus armeniacus, the Himalayan blackberry, of the Rubus fruticosus group. It is a different species from raspberry (Rubus idaeus) and from Chinese raspberry / Fu Pen Zi (Rubus chingii), which we sell separately.
-
NATURALLY TANNIN-RICH: Blackberry root is naturally rich in tannins, especially ellagitannins - simply constituents of the raw material. The root has a long history of use as a herbal tea.
Rubus armeniacus - Blackberry Root
Blackberry (Rubus armeniacus) is the vigorous bramble known as Himalayan or Armenian blackberry. While the berries are eaten as food, our Blackberry Root extract captures the dried root in a concentrated, alcohol-free liquid.
About our Blackberry Root Extract:
We start with quality, organic or ethically sourced Rubus armeniacus root and, unlike alcohol-based products, this formula is 100% alcohol-free, using a gentle vegetable glycerin base. It is a whole-root extract - not an isolate - carrying the plant's natural profile. This is specifically the root of Rubus armeniacus, and it is gluten-free.
Suggested use: Shake well before use. Adults take 20-30 drops (about 1 ml, one full squeeze of the dropper bulb) in 2 oz of water, tea, or juice, up to 3 times daily, or as directed by your practitioner.*
Main Ingredients: Blackberry (Rubus armeniacus) Dried Root. Origin: USA.
Other ingredients: vegetable glycerin USP, crystal clear water.
Additional information about ingredients: Contains NO alcohol, gluten, or artificial color.
Suggested Use: Shake well before use. Take 20-30 drops in 2 oz of water, tea, or juice, up to 3 times a day, or as directed by your practitioner. Do not use if seal is broken or missing. Store in a cool, dry place.
Safety information: As with any concentrated herbal extract, do not exceed the suggested serving size, even though blackberry root is widely used as a herbal tea. The root is very rich in tannins, more so than the leaf, so taking more than the suggested serving may upset the stomach; tannins can also reduce the absorption of iron and some minerals, so it is sensible to separate this extract from an iron supplement or a mineral-rich meal by an hour or two. Do not use during pregnancy or while nursing without the advice of a qualified practitioner. If you take any prescription medication or have a health condition, consult your doctor before use. Keep out of reach of children.
